Report on Business
Best Executive Awards

Terms and Conditions

You are nominating an executive for a Report on Business: 2021 Canada’s Best Executive Award (the “Award”), an award offered by The Globe and Mail, Canada’s leading media organization (collectively, the “Award Sponsor”).

Leveraging the journalistic rigour of the Award Sponsor, Report on Business magazine will assemble a who’s who of 50 Canadian executives—10 winners in each of five categories—each of whom will earn a Best Executive Award for 2021.

Nominations will be drawn from two pools:

  1. The Report on Business newsroom
  2. Public nominations

Award Enrolment Period. The initial Award nomination period began at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (“EDT”) on October 30, 2021 and ended at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time ("EST") on February 4, 2021, (the “Award Enrolment Period”).

Eligibility. To be an eligible nominee, the nominee must meet the following criteria:

  • Occupy a position below the CEO (or equivalent) level.
  • Occupy a position above the SVP (or equivalent) level.
  • Be working for either public companies or private businesses. Executives at not-for-profits, government institutions and/or academic institutions are also eligible, provided they work in a business capacity in one of the five Nomination Categories.
  • The above is collectively referred to as, an “Eligible Nominee”

Furthermore, all Eligible Nominees must work in one (1) of the following categories:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Operations
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Technology
  • The above is collectively referred to as the “Nomination Category”

Note: There is no formal minimum revenue cut-off for companies to qualify, but the list is meant to honour executives at larger corporations.

For greater certainty, an organization is not eligible if it is an Award Sponsor, or its affiliates (including parent, sister and subsidiary companies).
