Calgary police have cancelled an Amber Alert for a two-year-old boy.
Police said late Thursday that the child is safe.
Earlier in the day police said he was taken from the downtown area at about 2:30 p.m. following a supervised visit with his mother.
No details were released on where the boy was found.
There was no word on whether the woman police identified as a suspect would face any charges.
Police say Amber Alerts are issued to the public when a child, or an adult with a proven mental or physical disability, is abducted and at risk of harm.
