The Canadian Automobile Association says Hamilton’s Burlington Street East tops its survey of the worst roads in Ontario for the second consecutive year.

The CAA says Burlington Street East has risen progressively higher up the top 10 list since it first appeared on the list in 2009.

Taking the second and third place spots on the CAA’s annual Top 10 list are County Road 49 in Prince Edward County, which has appeared on the list multiple times, and Duckworth Street in Barrie, Ont.

Duckworth Street appeared on the list last year and holds top spot as the worst road in central Ontario.

Avondale Road in Belleville, Ont., and Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto round out the top five.

More than 3,500 roads were nominated from across the province this year, and the CAA says 75 per cent of respondents cited potholes as the reason for nominating a road.
