Ontario is reporting 525 new cases of COVID-19 today and five more deaths, including three deaths that took place months ago.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says that 434 of the new infections are in people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

She says 91 of the new cases are in fully vaccinated people.

Three of the deaths reported today happened more than two months ago and were updated based on data cleaning

Elliott says that 158 people are in intensive care due to COVID-19 and 148 of those people are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Nearly 83 per cent of Ontarians over the age of 12 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and nearly 76.3 per cent have two doses.
