Exploring the implications of agreement between Wet’suwet’en and government

The federal and B.C. governments have reached a proposed arrangement with the Wet’suwet’en Nation to recognize its hereditary governance system and implement rights and title on Wet’suwet’en traditional territory. John Borrows from the University of Victoria calls it a precedent that could have positive implications for future negotiations with Indigenous people.
