The pandemic has posed a multitude of challenges for small businesses. On the path to recovery, women-owned businesses face challenges similar to those posed prior to the pandemic: less access to capital, and lower revenue in comparison to businesses run by men. At the same time, women continue to find creative solutions to the host of challenges posed to their business as the pandemic ebbs and flows.

On Oct. 25, 2022, The Globe and Mail hosted a webcast featuring business owners and leaders who shared the strategies and smart solutions they’ve employed to ensure ongoing growth and discussed how consumers can support women-owned businesses.

Speakers:

  • Ashley Freeborn, Co-Founder, Principal and CEO, Smash + Tess
  • Jackee Kasandy, Owner, Kasandy and Co-founder of the Black Entrepreneurs and Businesses of Canada Society
  • Christa Bruneau-Guenther, Owner, Feast Café Bistro
  • Sasha Krstic, President of Mastercard in Canada
