While covering auto shows in Frankfurt, Paris, Bologna, New York, Los Angeles, and Detroit, I’ve discovered that they’re not just about the flashy, fancy, fast cars. They’re also about the sexy, scantily clad female models – an image that transcends all language barriers. But after a decade of covering cars I wonder, where’s the male eye candy? With women influencing most car-buying decisions, you’d think manufacturers would market to them too. It’s my quest to find the guy candy in Motor City. But first, the highlights: the girls of the 2014 North American International Auto Show.REBECCA COOK/Reuters

Finally, another male model in front of the Mini! Disappointing, only two men out of ten. Maybe I’ll have better luck at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. Stay tuned.Petrina Gentile/The Globe and Mail
