The Globe's esteemed Aesthetics Panel (a group of Globe and Mail staff and freelance journalists) is sifting through some of the ugliest cars ever built to determine the absolute ugliest.

Over the past week we have been running a series of four polls in a March Madness-style bracket and we are down to the final two vehicles, which won their semi-final match-ups. The winner will be announced Nov. 27.

The Aztek was sold between 2001 and 2005 as a mid-size crossover. It has a lot of cargo space, but has made many lists of the ugliest cars of all time. The Aztek easily won its match-ups in the first three rounds.

The Pacer is a two-door compact that was produced between 1975 and 1980. AMC's chief stylist anticipated an increase in demand for smaller cars. In the 1970s Car and Driver referred to it as "The Flying Fishbowl."
