The company’s cars were first sold in Japan 100 years ago. The Japanese auto maker was then known as DAT-GO (the DAT-car). In Japanese, DAT means “lightning fast,” and it also refers to the three financiers who supported the business then.
Datsun sold more than 20,000,000 vehicles in 190 counties.
The company will expand to markets in Russia, Indonesia and South Africa later in 2014.
The Datsun GO production model will be sold in India starting on March 19, 2014.
