Keep track of business announcements with the ROB calendar

Jupiterimages/(c) Jupiterimages

We've created a new tool to help readers keep track of important business dates throughout the year. Using Google Calendar, we've listed the dates of major releases from Statistics Canada, the Bank of Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. and the U.S. Federal Reserve. We've also included a couple of personal finance dates, like the RRSP contribution deadline and the personal income tax deadline.

For each date, we've included links to websites where you can find background information and the data when they are released.

Events on the calendar are organized by colour -- see the legend underneath the calendar to find out what they all mean.

Bookmark the page and check in whenever you like to see what's coming up each month.

Or, if you already use Google Calendar it's very easy to add the ROB calendar events to your own personal calendar. Whether you're interested in interest rate announcements, home prices or employment numbers, it's easy to pick and choose which events are relevant to you and add them to your own calendar.

To add an event to your personal calendar, click on the event, then "copy to my calendar." To add an entire calendar (i.e. an enitre colour series), click on the "+Google Calendar" button in the bottom right corner of the calendar. You can choose one or multiple calendars to add to your Google calendar from there.

See the calendar here: The ROB economic calendar

Are there events you'd like to see that we haven't included? This a brand new tool and we want it to be useful, so please send us your feedback and let us know if you have suggestions for how it could be improved.
