Hi, I'm Scott Adams, executive editor of the Report on Business.

We've launched a powerful new tool called Watchlist to help you track your investments at Globe Investor. It replaces our old Stocklist and Fundlist tools that tens of thousands of people use every day.

I want to tell you about the new Watchlist because it has several advantages:

1. You can see it from any computer

You're going to need to register first with Globeandmail.com, but it is quick and simple and it will allow you to securely save your Watchlist to your registration. I've already registered so I'm going to start by logging in.

People are always complaining that they have lost their stocklists or fundlists when they clean out their cookies from their computer. The new Watchlist solves that problem.

2. You can see stocks, funds, ETFs, commodities, currencies and indexes in one place

So instead of having to look at stocks in one place on our site and then click over to a different part of the site to see funds, you can see all kinds of securities, prices and indexes now all in one view.

3. You can create multiple Watchlists

What that means is that within Watchlist, you can create many individual Watchlists. You can watch bank stocks and bank indexes in one Watchlist, commodity stocks and prices in another and ETFs in another. It's easy to switch between lists and keep adding items to each one.

4. It's customizable for almost 60 financial data points.

You can change your view of your lists by going to the Viewfinder here. One area to explore is the Build Your Own View.

I'm not going to get into the details of that here because attached to the bottom of this video you'll find a menu of more videos and transcripts to help you with specific tasks in Watchlist.

We're always looking for ways to make Watchlist better, so please send us your suggestions to globeinvestor@globeandmail.com.

Or you can use the same e-mail address to contact our technical help people.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the new Watchlist.
