Keep in mind, when looking at transaction activities by insiders, purchasing activity may reflect perceived value in a security. I tend to put great weight on insider transaction activities when I see multiple insiders buying shares of a company.

Agrium Inc. (AGU-T)

On March 10, Derek Pannell, chairman of the board, bought 752 shares at a price of $131.0362 per share.

ARC Resources Ltd. (ARX-T)

Bevin Wirzba, senior vice-president of business development and capital markets, purchased 3,130 shares at a price of $19.02 per share on March 14. The previous week, we reported that the chairman of the board, Hal Kvisle, accumulated 19,500 shares over the course of several days, purchasing 6,000 shares at a price of $19.45 per share on March 7, 4,000 shares at $19.30 on March 6, buying 5,000 shares at $19.70 on March 2, and purchasing 4,500 shares at $19.80 the prior day. In addition, board member Nancy Smith bought 5,000 shares on March 7.

Athabasca Oil Corp. (ATH-T)

On March 13, Rodrigo Sousa, vice-president of corporate development, purchased 50,000 shares.

Callidus Capital Corp. (CBL-T)

Significant shareholder Braslyn Ltd. purchased 132,000 shares at a price of $18.08 per share on March 14, and acquired 23,100 shares at $17.80 the previous day, raising its ownership position to over 6.3 million shares.

CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd. (CWX-T)

Sam Fleiser, who sits on the board of directors, purchased 9,500 shares at a price of $5.81 per share on March 10.

Cardinal Energy Ltd. (CJ-T)

Douglas Smith, chief financial officer, purchased 10,000 shares at a price of $7.08 on March 16.

Clearwater Seafoods Inc. (CLR-T)

Three insiders have been snapping up shares. Board member Brendan Paddick bought 10,000 shares at a price of $10.25 per share on March 10. That same day, Ron van der Giesen, the president of the global supply chain, increased his holdings by 9,200 shares. The prior day, Jane Craighead, who also sits on the board of directors, bought 2,500 shares.

Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust (CUF.UN-T)

Trustee Alban D'Amours increased his portfolio position by 5,000 units on March 16 at a purchase price of $14.35 per unit. Fellow trustee Mary-Ann Bell bought 4,600 units on March 13.

ECN Capital Corp. (ECN-T)

Chairman of the board of directors William Lovatt purchased 100,000 shares at a price of $3.55 per share on March 9. The following day, Grier Colter, the chief financial officer, made a small purchase, accumulating 12,000 shares in an RRSP at a price of $3.475 per share.

Encana Corp. (ECA-T)

Chairman of the board Clayton Woitas purchased 12,300 shares on March 13, and 14,400 shares on March 10. Doug Suttles, president and chief executive officer, has also been accumulating shares, purchasing 1,000 shares on March 9.

First Majestic Silver Corp. (FR-T)

On March 13, Todd Anthony, vice-president of investor relations, purchased 10,000 shares at a price of $10.20 per share.

Gran Tierra Energy Inc. (GTE-T)

Global long/short equity investment manager GMT Capital Corp., with over a 10-per-cent interest, continued to accumulate shares, purchasing 518,100 shares on March 13. Earlier this month, on March 6, GMT Capital bought 716,400 shares, accumulated 319,800 shares on March 3, and purchased 288,100 shares at the start of the month. In addition, Brooke Wade, who sits on the board of directors, bought 142,600 shares on March 13.

Kelt Exploration Ltd. (KEL-T)

David Wilson, president and chief executive officer, purchased 40,000 shares at a price of $6.01 per share on March 15.

Martinrea International Inc. (MRE-T)

Two senior executives have been accumulating shares. Fred Di Tosto, chief financial officer, bought 2,900 shares on March 10, in addition to his purchase of 17,065 shares completed the prior day. The previous week, president and chief executive officer Pat D'Eramo purchased 16,200 shares on March 7.

Major Drilling Group International Inc. (MDI-T)

Over the course of the month, chairman of the board David Tennant has accumulated 24,400 shares from trades completed between March 8 and March 14.

New Gold Inc. (NGD-T)

Board member Vahan Kololian bought 100,000 shares at a price of $2.80 per share on March 10.

Precision Drilling Corp. (PD-T)

A pair of management executives recently completed two purchase orders. On March 14, Carey Ford, chief financial officer, bought 7,000 shares, and the following day, Veronica Foley, senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary, purchased 5,000 shares.

Tahoe Resources Inc. (THO-T)

On March 14, board member, Drago Kisic, bought 11,142 shares.

Tourmaline Oil Corp. (TOU-T)

Michael Rose, chairman, president and chief executive officer, resumed his buying spree on March 14, accumulating 5,000 shares at a price of $28.7682 per share. The previous day, board member Jill Angevine accumulated 3,000 shares at a price of $29.29 per share.

Vermilion Energy Inc. (VET-T)

On March 13, board member Catherine Williams bought 1,000 shares.
