October is off to a positive start for world markets. Overnight, the Hang Seng rose 1.2 per cent while the Nikkei gained 0.9 per cent. This morning in Europe, the FTSE is rallying 1.3 per cent while the CAC is up 0.1 per cent. U.S. index futures have slid lower after being up slightly, digesting Friday's gains. Germany and mainland China markets are closed for holidays.
