Boyd Group Income Fund (BYD.UN-T) appointed Tim O'Day as president and chief operating officer and Brock Bulbuck will become CEO, relinquishing the president title he has held along with CEO since 2010.

"This change is being made to better position Tim with company-wide operating oversight, responsibility and influence," said Mr. Bulbuck in a release. "This, along with related changes that will be made in our operational management structure reporting to Tim, will better position our business with greater breadth and depth of senior management."

Caledonia Mining Corp. (CAL-T) says its largest shareholder, Allan Gray, has increased its shareholding to 8.4 million common shares representing 15.97 per cent of the company.

Knight Therapeutics Inc. (GUD-T) has deepened its partnership with Synergy CHC Corp.

Knight says it has committed to invest up to $2-million (U.S.) toward the purchase of Synergy common shares, conditional on Synergy meeting certain fundraising targets in 2017.

Knight said it has also struck an agreement with Synergy to swap its share purchase warrants and stock options of Synergy in exchange for shares.

Following the exchange, Knight said it owns 17.6 million or 19.9 per cent of Synergy shares.

Pason Systems Inc. (PSI-T) has acquired Verdazo Analytics Inc., a privately owned software company geared to the energy industry, for an undisclosed price.

In a release, Pason said the deal includes a combination of cash and Pason shares "with approximately half of the consideration deferred over three years."

Pason also sold the operating assets of 3PS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary and expects to book a non-cash impairment charge, "the majority of which relates to intangible assets, in the fourth quarter of 2016."

In a separate release, McCoy Global Inc. (MCB-T) said it acquired 3PS for $6.1-million (U.S.).

"3PS is an ideal strategic acquisition: it positions McCoy as a TTS [Torque and Tension Sub] global technology leader and contributes valuable design and engineering expertise for further development of data collection technologies," stated McCoy CEO Jim Rakievich.
