Apartments should continue to do relatively well, both operationally and financially, across North America. North American apartment occupancy remains high while rental rates continue to trend upwards. In addition, fund flows directed to the apartment sub-sector are very healthy, most probably a reflection of continuously improving apartment's fundamental as well as the inflation hedging characteristics of this sub-sector. On the contrary, Canadian office and retail fundamentals remain worrisome as they continued to deteriorate.
