Watch Alphabet results: It could soon top Apple as the world's most valuable company

Investors get their first in-depth look at Google Inc.'s parent when the new Alphabet Inc. posts its fourth-quarter earnings after markets close Monday.

As Reuters reports, Alphabet's results will detail everything from the group's Google Fiber to cars that drive themselves.

For investors is the fact that, as Reuters notes, a solid quarter could push Alphabet beyond Apple Inc. in terms of market capitalization.
