When we launched the mobile version of our popular Watchlist tool in July, we committed ourselves to making incremental improvements in the ensuing weeks. We know how important it is for you to get the information you need while you are on the go. The second web version of Globe Investor Watchlist is now ready for you to use.

In this version, you can add or delete items from a comprehensive selection of stocks, funds, commodities, indexes and currencies. This lets you seamlessly track the investments you're interested in across the web and your mobile devices -- changes made on the web or on your mobile devices will be reflected back across all the other devices you are using. Everything is instantly synced for you.

Adding items to your Watchlist is easy. Click or tap the field called Add up to 5 securities. As you begin typing a symbol, company or fund you'll be given suggestions of likely matches. Select the one you want and then click or tap the Add Items button. Deleting is as simple as swiping your thumb or finger across the row and selecting Delete.

This version also lets you create new Watchlists. You can create dozens of individual lists. For example, you can create one list called Bank Stocks and then another one for technology stocks. The Create New feature is found at the bottom of the scrolling listfinder for all of your Watchlists. You can also delete and rename all of your Watchlists from here.

If you haven't tried Watchlist on your mobile device yet, you'll need to log in using your regular Globe credentials -- the same one you would use on your desktop computer. The easiest way to get to The Globe and Mail's mobile home page is to go to m.tgam.ca using a mobile browser like Safari on your iPhone or the Browser on your BlackBerry. Once you're there, click or tap the Sections button and select Investing.

One last tip for regular Watchlist readers who use an iPhone: Get access to Watchlist in one click from your home screen. How? When you're looking at your Watchlist on your iPhone, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen and select Add to Home Screen. Your Watchlist icon will be an orange leaf and will open in a much larger, cleaner browser window so that you can see more of your investments at once.

If there's another feature you'd really like to have, please leave a comment on this blog post, or let us know by email: mobile@globeandmail.com or on Twitter: @globeinvestor.
