A financial blogger has been asked to be a bridesmaid at three weddings this year and estimates the total cost at around $3,800. There’s also an infographic here on the cost of being a bridesmaid.

How to find ding-free ATMs

Canada’s credit unions are getting a bit edgier in marketing themselves as a bank alternative. In this campaign, they’re highlighting a cross-country network of “ding-free” ATMs where customers can make withdrawals without paying surcharges. There’s a ding-free deal on participating ATMs, and a smartphone ATM locator app is available.

Your tax dollars at work

This look at the comparatively poor state of the U.S. health care system includes data for Canada and other countries. We’re doing OK, but not great in terms of the value we’re getting from our spending on health care.
