Here are two articles that appeared on a website for investment advisers, the first of them raising questions about whether it’s possible to be a long-term investor in today’s uncertain markets and the second affirming the sense of a long-term approach. I still think most investors are best served by sticking with a portfolio mix tied to their risk tolerance and objectives. The more you try to outsmart the market, the more chance there is that the market will win.

The Rewards Canada blog starts a series on alternatives to Air Miles and Aeroplan, both of which dominate the customer loyalty business in Canada.

The cost of kids

Useful information here on budgeting for new parents from the federal Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
