Canfor Corp. (CFP-T) reported third-quarter sales of $1.67-billion, roughly in line with the same quarter a year ago. The result was ahead of expectations of $1.55-billion, according to S&P Capital IQ.

Net income of $87.4-million or 71 cents per share compared to net income of $210-million or $1.68 per share a year ago. Adjusted earnings came in at 80 cents per share versus $1.68 a year ago. The expectation was for adjusted EPS of 74 cents.

Canfor Pulp Products Inc. (CFX-T) reported third-quarter sales of $308.3-million up from $299-million a year ago. The expectation was for sales to come in at $278.2-million. Net income of $16.3-million or 25 cents per share compared to net income of $12.1-million or 19 cents a year ago.

Hammond Power Solutions Inc. (HPS-A-T) reported third-quarter sales increased 56 per cent to a record $149-million. The result was ahead of expectations of $118.9-million. Net earnings of $11.5-mllion or 97 cents per share compared to net earnings of $3.9-million or 34 cents a year ago.

Fairfax India Holdings Corp. (FIH-U-T) issued a statement after markets closed Thursday in response to “some recent media reports” that it intends to sell its stake in Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). Fairfax India said it’s a long-term shareholder and “has no intention of selling its ownership interest in BIAL.”

Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD-T) reported third-quarter revenue of US$217.7-million compared to US$238.4-million a year ago. The expectation was for revenue of US$228.3-million.

Its net loss was US$50.5-million or 27 US cents per share versus a profit of US$8.5-million or 5 US cents a year ago. Adjusted EPS came in at a loss of 4 US cents versus a profit of 22 US cents last year. The expectation was for adjusted EPS to come in at a profit of 5 US cents, according to S&P Capital IQ.

Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (TVE-T) reported third-quarter revenue of $329.3-million up from $212.3-million a year ago. Net income was $124.8-million or 28 cents per share versus net income of $20-million or 5 cents a year ago.

Advantage Energy Ltd. (AAV-T) reported sales of $235.4-million for the third quarter, up from $134.4-million a year ago. Net income came in at $40.6-million or 22 cents per share versus net income of $43.1-million or 23 cents a year ago. Adjusted funds flow $96.7-million or 52 cents per share compared to $63.4-million or 33 cents a year earlier.

Richards Packaging Income Fund (RPI-UN-T) reported revenue of $109-million for the third quarter ended Oct. 31, down from $112.2-million a year ago. The company said quarterly revenue was down on a 33-per-cent reduction in cosmetics offset by strong healthcare growth.

Net income of $11.7-million compared to net income of $3.9-million a year ago, according to documents filed on Sedar.com.

Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD-T) reported its highest quarterly revenue in the company’s history in the third quarter. It said total proceeds of $111-million in the quarter ended Sept. 30 were 9-per-cent higher than in the second quarter.
