    Hines Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc is incorporated in Maryland on August 5, 2003. The Company is a real estate investment trust engaged in owning interest in real estate. The Company has invested in institutional-quality office properties located throughout the United States. As of December 31, 2013, the Company has owned direct and indirect investments in 43 properties. These properties consisted of 30 U.S. office properties, one industrial property in Dallas, Texas and a portfolio of 12 grocery-anchored shopping centers located in five states primarily in the south-eastern United State.
