OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- In commemoration of the Black Panther Party's 55th Anniversary, a bronze sculpture of Dr. Huey P. Newton will be unveiled on Dr. Huey P. Newton Way and Mandela Parkway on October 24th. Notably, this will be the first permanent public art piece honoring the Black Panther Party in Oakland.

The unveiling will take place during a block party celebration hosted by the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation, which will feature live entertainment, city officials, local vendors and an official unveiling ceremony.
