This week's most spontaneous – and awkward – TV moment: The unplanned smooch between Rob Lowe and Ellen DeGeneres. The Parks and Recreation star showed up on Wednesday's edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to plug his new book Love Life. During the course of the interview, DeGeneres asked Lowe about an incident in the book detailing how guest star Jewel refused to kiss him during the filming of his short-lived legal drama Lyon's Den in 2003. To illustrate the story, Lowe assumed the role of Jewel and DeGeneres played Lowe as she awkwardly leaned in for their scripted lip-lock.

Is a legal battle looming over the remains of the late Mickey Rooney? The actor, who died of natural causes last weekend at the age of 93, stipulated in his will that he did not want to be buried in the cemetery plot he bought decades ago, before he split with his eighth wife Jan. Rooney's lawyer, Frank Augustine, told a court this week that he was concerned Jan and her son, Christopher Aber, were going to attempt to remove the late actor's remains from the mortuary at Forest Lawn Memorial cemetery in Los Angeles. In the will signed two weeks before his death, Rooney disinherited his children, his wife and all but one of her children. Despite eight decades in the film industry, Rooney's final estate is estimated to be a paltry $18,000 (U.S.).

50 Cent has been ordered to pay a headphone company $16-million following their failed partnership. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, entered into a deal with Florida-based Sleek Audio several years ago to produce a line of high-quality headphones. The ear-gear was never produced and after three years of legal wrangling, the U.S. District Court in Miami has decreed Jackson must pay Sleek Audio nearly $4.5-million in attorney fees and $11.7-million in damages.

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been pulled into a legal battle over bonuses they were paid for the hit movie franchise. According to a lawsuit filed by finance company Goldcrest Film Distribution against the studio Summit Entertainment, both Stewart and Pattinson received an extra $2.5-million bonus apiece for their roles in the vampire love saga. Goldcrest is attempting to recover several million dollars in payments and claims Summit grossly underestimated film revenues and overstated costs to their financial advantage. The Twilight franchise spawned five films that have earned more than $3.3-billion worldwide.

Eighties rock fixture Joan Jett will assume the Kurt Cobain role for Nirvana's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Speculation that Jett would take over the late Cobain's frontman role began after drummer Dave Grohl posted an Instagram photo that showed her guitar propped alongside the bass of Nirvana original Krist Novoselic, the guitar of guitarist Pat Smear and Grohl's drum kit. R.E.M. vocalist Michael Stipe will preside over Nirvana's induction into the Hall in New York on Thursday night.

Woo-hoo! The U.S. cable channel FXX has announced it will air all 5522 episodes of The Simpsons in consecutive order in a 12-day viewing marathon this summer. Slated to kick on off August 21 and run to Labor Day, the marathon is in recognition of FXX's recent licensing of the animated series, which reportedly cost than $500-million. The Simpsons will begin its 26th season on the Fox Network this fall.
