Katy Perry - Roar (Official)

Who needs a baby daddy when you've got the eye of the tiger? Not Katy Perry.

The pop star reveals she isn't afraid of being a single mom in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

"I don't need a dude," said Perry in the interview. "We are living in the future; we don't need anything. I don't think I'll have to, but we'll see."

Of course that doesn't mean Perry, who was married to English actor Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, has given up on the opposite sex. She may have sung about that time she kissed a girl, but she's still looking for the right guy.

"I'm not anti-men," insisted Perry, who also appears on the Rolling Stone cover. "I love men. But there is an option if someone doesn't present himself."

Currently, Perry is rumoured to be dating the DJ/rapper known as Diplo (real name: Thomas Wesley Pentz) and is midway through her exhaustive Prismatic World Tour, so having a baby isn't on the immediate horizon.

But Perry says that when she does decide to get in the family way, she plans on making it her main priority.

"I want to be doing that in the right time," said Perry, who turns 30 in October. "And that's not in the next two years, you know? Maybe it's in a five-year plan, but I need to really be able to focus 100 per cent of my attention on it."

And while pop counterpart Beyoncé has no problem with taking her infant daughter, Blue Ivy, on tour, that's not in the cards for Katy Perry.

"I don't really want to take the child on tour," says Perry firmly. "Not until, like, birth through five is over."
