Jimmy Fallon's debut on The Tonight Show has been declared a ratings hit. Monday night's premiere episode drew 11.31-million U.S. viewers according to the Nielsen ratings. The huge viewership is the second-largest audience for The Tonight Show since May 2009, finishing second only to outgoing host Jay Leno's sendoff episode on February 6 (14.64 million) and the 11.90-million Americans who watched in May 2009 when Conan O'Brien began his four-month stint hosting the late-night talk franchise.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Meet the new version of the dream team: American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis has revealed that he's penned a movie script for controversial rapper Kanye West. The unlikely partnership began last year after West remade a scene from the movie adaptation of American Psycho to promote his new album, Yeezus. That lead to a meeting between the two men and subsequent collaboration. Although the author has refused to divulge plot details, he appeared inordinately impressed with West in a recent Vice interview. "I really like him as a person," said Ellis. "I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you're just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it's kind of mind-blowing."

MASHUP MATTERS
If you loved the Disney animated feature Frozen and you're a regular viewer of the BBC/PBS series Sherlock, have we got a treat for you. A Tumblr user named Sherlockspeare has put together a remarkable mashup of both stories that puts the focus squarely on Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch. The video's concept employs cut-outs of Cumberbatch in character from various episodes and inserts them into an animated, snowy background. Captions running at the bottom of the screen of the mashup supply the relevant lyrics.

ICE, ICE BABY
One-hit wonder Vanilla Ice is alive and well and in a new commercial for Kraft. The nineties rapper (real name: Rob Van Winkle), appears in the spot promoting Kraft's new mac-and-cheese product that comes in the shape of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Ice is shown stocking the TMNT boxes on a grocery-store shelf when he's approached by a mother and son. The mom recognizes Ice and breaks into an awkward break dance, much to her son's chagrin. Ice closes the spot by telling the kid, "Word to your mother."

FUTURE SHOCK
The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus will partner with showrunner Robert Kirkman for a new sci-fi thriller feature. Kirkman, who also created the original Walking Dead comic book series, has signed on to write and produce the futuristic feature titled Air, in which two custodial types (played by Reedus and Djimon Hounsou) are tasked to protect the cryogenically frozen people who are supposed to restart society. Reedus, who plays the crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl on Walking Dead, will also serve as an executive producer on the movie.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
Seventeen years after Titanic made cinema history by earning more than $2-billion at the box office, an extra in the movie wants a piece of the action. The extra, named Vi Jay, recently filed a lawsuit against 20th Century Fox claiming he was originally cast in a non-speaking background role in the epic film, but on the day of his shoot, director James Cameron spontaneously gave him a line of dialogue. Jay can be seen in the early part of the movie as a porter who hands a piece of luggage to Kathy Bates' character and says, "Yes. Yes, ma'am." Jay claims he was paid only $60 for the role, but now believes his single line entitles him to Screen Actors Guild benefits and residuals. So far, 20th Century Fox hasn't responded to the lawsuit.
