Dean McDermott blames booze and drugs for making him cheat on his wife Tori Spelling. The Canadian-born actor opens up in the latest episode of the Lifetime reality series True Tori, which documents the couple's efforts to rebuild their marriage in the wake of his affair with another woman. McDermott claims his addictive personality had him boozing and "doing lines" shortly before he checked into a rehab facility last December. "I didn't think that I would get caught," McDermott tells a friend in the clip. "I was drinking and using drugs. I have a brain that wants to kill me." In the same clip, McDermott swears that he's learned from his mistakes and wants to resume family life with Spelling and their four children. "I need to change," he said. "I am on the verge of losing everything that means anything in this world, my wife and my family."

Iggy Azalea needn't fret about negative reviews anymore: Lorde has her back. The Royals singer went on Tumblr yesterday to lash out at reviewers who slammed Aussie rapper Azalea's debut album titled The New Classic. Specifically, Lorde was critical of the publication Complex, which gave a low grade to the album despite featuring Azalea on the cover two months before. Said Lorde: "bugs me how publications like complex will profile interesting artists in order to sell copies/get clicks and the s–t on their records? it happens to me all the time." Soon after, Azalea went on Twitter to register her appreciation for Lorde's support with her tweet: "I agree. Media LOVE to flop about, but when you're completely spineless I'm sure its hard to stick to even ur own opinion."

Although neither George Clooney or Amal Alamuddin have officially confirmed their engagement, George's parents are way ahead of the handsome couple. In an interview with Us magazine, Nick Clooney said, "We are thrilled. We have had an opportunity to interact with this wonderful young woman and these are two great people." And just like her husband, George's mother Nina Clooney told The Daily Mail that she was "extremely happy" about the pending nuptials, adding, "Amal's a lovely girl. I like her very much."

Emma Stone can handle herself on the big screen opposite a superhero – but can she match lip-sync skills with Jimmy Fallon? The Spider-Man 2 star showed off her formidable lyric-mouthing talents on Monday night's edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The contest began with Fallon miming a lively version of the Iggy Azalea song Fancy, which Stone countered capably with Hook by Blues Traveler. In round two, Fallon impressed with his kitschy take of Styx's Mr. Roboto, but Stone won the hearts and mind of the studio audience with her gutsy rendition of DJ Khaled's All I Do is Win. No date has been set for a rematch.

Athlete Amy Purdy was hospitalized following Monday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars. The Paralympian snowboarder and partner injured her back in her first dance performance with partner Derek Hough and required medical assistance during the live broadcast. Moments after, Purdy told DWTS co-host Erin Andrews, "I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up… Everything's really painful right now. It's hard to breathe." Immediately after the show, Purdy was transported to a Los Angeles hospital where she gave fans an update on her condition via Twitter. "Thanks for your support everyone!" she tweeted. "Doctor thinks its muscular, still waiting on the official word."

SUMMER NIGHTS
The Fox Network will dive into the TV musical business with a live broadcast of Grease. Following the lead of NBC, which aired a live version of The Sound of Music last year to record ratings, Fox will mount a three-hour production of the fifties-era story, which began life as a stage musical in 1971 and was transformed into a 1978 movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. "Grease is one of the most beloved musical stories ever told and we can't wait to bring it to our air in a spectacular live event," said Shana Waterman, senior vice-president of event series for Fox. The TV version is tentatively slated to air in early 2015.
