DANCE FEVER

Kevin Bacon has shown the world that he can still dance like he did in the movie Footloose. A video clip of the 55-year-old actor reprising his signature moves from the 1984 movie on a recent outing of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is making the rounds. In the clip, Fallon reads from a scroll to inform his studio audience that dancing has been officially outlawed on The Tonight Show set. Cut to backstage, where Bacon announced, "There has to be dancing!" before launching into a series of acrobatic moves first featured in the film. As in the original story, Bacon collected an assortment of young female dancers en route to the main stage, where he tore up the scroll to the crowd's delight. Bacon currently stars on the Fox crime drama The Following.

WHO CAME FIRST?

The creationist community is not thrilled about Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. Launched two weeks ago, the Fox science series features noted astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson expounding on the marvels of the universe from a strictly scientific viewpoint. After two airings, Cosmos has come under attack by Danny Faulkner, an astronomer working for a Christian ministry who has criticized the show's positive stance on biogenesis and its assertion that the universe is billions of years old. "Creationists aren't even on the radar screen for them," groused Faulkner in a recent radio interview. "They wouldn't even consider us plausible at all."

ALL GOOD

Rihanna has borrowed from a popular reality show to promote her upcoming tour. In support of her just-announced Monster Tour with Eminem, Rihanna went on Instagram over the weekend to post a select clip from the MTV series Teen Mom 2. The clip in question was an infamous moment from 2012 when new mother Jenelle Evans tells her lawyer she can't go to jail because it would spoil her plans to attend a Kesha concert. Says Evans: "That's why I got all these feathers in my hair. I bought clothes for the concert. I set up hotel rooms for the concert. It's not just a concert, it's …" At which point the new version cuts to an announcer shouting, "Rihanna!" Evans herself seems fine with the post and retweeted Rihanna's updated video with the caption, "Dude, Rihanna actually notices me lol."

PROMO TWIST

Give credit to The Black Keys for thinking outside the promotional box. On Friday, the quirky blues-rock duo went on Twitter to announce that their eighth studio album – titled Turn Blue – will be available on May 13. The unusual part: The Keys shared the YouTube link to their new album on boxer Mike Tyson's verified Twitter account. The video promoting the album features a spinning turntable and a severe-looking hypnotist and ends with a blue screen announcing the album title and release date and the news that "we accept: Cash, Check, Wire Transfer, Pay Pal, Bit Coins."
