Taylor Swift lets loose dancing at the Grammys (and Twitter shudders)

Did you see Taylor Swift dancing madly at Sunday night's Grammy awards? Don't worry, someone will send you the clip.

The statuesque country star has people talking following her stilted dancing during the broadcast.

Taylor chose to break out her best moves during the performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar and indie band Imagine Dragons.

At the show's midway point, Lamar belted out a hard-hitting version of his song M.A.A.D City as a mashup with the Imagine Dragons' hit Radioactive.

Onstage, there were smoke bombs and flashing red strobe lights as the two songs came together. In the front row, there was Swift.

The 24-year-old, who had already performed her song All Too Well on the Grammys, was sitting front and centre for the collaboration, and it didn't take long for her to start dancing.

Accompanied by an unnamed female friend, Swift shook her groove thing and waved her hands in the air during the hard-driving tune, all while wearing her slinky full-length silver Gucci dress. The effect was not unlike a giddy woman at a wedding who suddenly decides that she's "feeling the music."

Which is more or less what Twitter thought of Swift's dancing ability.

Consider the comment tweeted from Julie Ofcharsky (@JulieOfcharsky): "Taylor Swift trying to dance to Kendrick Lamar is literally the most uncomfortable thing I have ever witnessed in my life."

Or this comment from Fortune Feimster (@fortunefunny): "Just when you thought Taylor Swift couldn't get any whiter, she started dancing."

Or this from Guy Endore-Kaiser (@GuyEndoreKaiser): " 'Oh God can we please sit down?' Taylor Swift's friend."

Even as we speak, GIFs of Swift's shaky dance moves are flying around the Internet.

And the strange part: Even though Swift is getting attention for her bad dancing, even more people are talking about her reaction when she thought, for a half-second, that she had won album of the year for her album Red.

The camera caught Taylor sitting anxiously in the crowd when the winner was being announced. Unfortunately for Swift, the winner was Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. D'oh!

Sorry, Taylor. There's always next year.
