In this Jan. 23, 2014 photo made available by the Miami Beach Police Dept. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, shows Justin Bieber at the police station in Miami Beach, Fla.

Justin Bieber is racking up just about as many court cases as number-one albums — but two new legal developments may keep the Boyfriend singer from becoming as famous for his delinquency as for his music.

A felony attempted robbery charge against Bieber was rejected yesterday by Los Angeles County district attorney Jackie Lacey, the Associated Press reports.

The Canadian pop star stood accused of allegedly removing a cell phone from a woman's purse at a California amusement park in May. Police couldn't find any eyewitnesses to support the allegations so Lacey dismissed the case and referred it to the city, according to CNN.

But the good news for Bieber doesn't stop there.

A DUI charge against the singer is being reduced to reckless driving, TMZ reported this morning. Bieber wasn't drunk or drag racing but he had been smoking weed, says the gossip site.

One reason it took so long to reach a plea bargain agreement is because the judge wanted the Biebs to star in an anti-drug PSA, says TMZ. Even the prosecutor thought this condition was inappropriate — so you won't be seeing Bieber in a (perhaps hypocritical) public service announcement any time soon.

The prosecutor did want Bieber to go to a drug and alcohol education course, but the star's lawyers argued that Bieber does not have a substance abuse problem.

In the end, he will pay a fine and go to anger management class, but he won't be put on probation.

The singer will be attending classes all alone. His buddy Khalil, the singer who was in the yellow Lamborghini with Bieber at the time of the arrest, is exempt from anger management class, says TMZ.

Bieber has been pretty quiet on social media the past couple of days, last taking to Twitter on June 11 to tweet the innocuous sentiment "New beginnings." (That's the same day he posted to Instagram and then deleted a photograph of his on-again off-again sweetheart, former Disney princess Selena Gomez.)

The legal battle isn't quite over for Bieber. He is still facing felony vandalism charges for allegedly egging his neighbour's house in California last January and assault charges for allegedly hitting a Toronto limo driver in the head last December.

Two down, two to go.
