Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils Shocking

The promise

YSL Shocking is a purported technological innovation that breaks every rule to give you lashes with "indecent" volume.

How it works

The formula is composed of two types of wax: a soft adherent wax that instantly thickens lashes and a hard wax to maximize curl.

Together with the exclusive compact asymmetrical brush that boasts a broad helix cut and irregular bristles that allow the formula to seep into the heart of the brush, it delivers long, thick and curved lashes with just one stroke.

How to use it Apply to lashes in one continuous application, working from the outer corners in. Repeat on bottom lashes.

The bottom line

I see indecency everywhere I go. I see it in the barely legal Kim Kardashian wannabes who bus themselves into Toronto every weekend to hit up the nightclub district. I see it in political miscreants who brazenly exempt themselves from paying taxes while using government money to fund their own illicit pursuits. I see it in corporate takeovers, pyramid schemes, telephone scams, hair extensions, French pedicures and the cast of Jersey Shore. But never before have I seen it in eyelashes.

Until now. To truly put this mascara to the test, I applied it on my lashes without curling them first and without a trace of any other makeup on my face. The result was lashes so big and dramatic that I didn't need to put on anything else – the perfect product for the perpetually tardy. If this is YSL's idea of indecent, I'm in.
