How can I get my super straight eyelashes to curl?

The question: I have very straight, stiff lashes. I curl them and have tried many types of mascara, but my lashes still go straight. (The only thing that ever worked was L'Oreal Panoramic Curl, but it's been discontinued.) Is there a mascara out there that's waterproof and can hold the curl?

The answer: The fact that you're asking for a waterproof mascara means you're on the right track. Both waterproof and curling mascaras contain more wax than oil in them, which helps to preserve the hold they have on your lashes, as well as their ability to hold a curl.

You can also help keep the curl in your lashes by using a blow dryer and heating up your lash curler a bit. Just make sure to apply your mascara immediately after curling, which will help hold the shape. If you've got the cash, splurge on Diorshow Waterproof mascara, which is a hands-down winner. If you're on a budget, Maybelline New York's Full & Soft mascara in the waterproof formula lengthens, thickens and will hold all day.
