I can't stand the day-after prickly feeling I get on my legs after I shave. Any suggestions?
I'm in the same boat as you. I have thick, coarse hair and I've tried everything, including multiple-blade razors, painful and embarrassing waxing sessions, electrolysis, laser hair-removal devices (which, honestly, sting like bees) and the exhausting process of threading, where individual hairs are pulled out using a thin, twisted thread. While each of these methods gets the job done, there are longer periods, if the removal process eliminates the hair at the root, between that prickly sensation.
Waxing and threading are the least expensive of these options, although they both require repeat visits and won't permanently remove the hair. Electrolysis will kill the hair follicle permanently, but it's a lengthy process when it comes to your legs and can be both painful and pricey. Laser hair removal is probably the better option for large areas like the legs because the hair is eliminated in patches and it won't regrow.
I say save yourself the time and energy of office visits and invest in an at-home system like the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X, which uses the same technology that dermatologists do for the cost of about three or four visits. Bonus: You can use it on other parts of the body in the privacy of your locked bathroom.
