Should women always wear a bra that conceals the contour of the nipple?
The answer
In the wake of Paris Fashion Week, I can report that nipple protuberances were de rigueur.
Most designers didn't even bother with bras. At Nina Ricci, many of the fabrics were so filmy that the models would have required industrial-strength foam to create a completely smooth curvature of the breast.
But real life is very different from the runway. Fact is, no nipple protruberance will go unnoticed.
Today, lingerie stores seem to be pushing either moulded "T-shirt" bras (which create a seamless line) or wireless styles – two completely different messages. Here's a question: Would you want your grandmother – or colleagues at a conference – to spot your nipples? If not, go with the former bra style.
Most of the time, though, there's no need to overthink it. Just do whatever feels, er, pertinent to the occasion.
