Party photos of the week: Taste of Toronto launch party Add to ...

‘There’s nowhere else in North America I’d rather launch a taste festival,” said Justin Clarke, managing director of Taste Festivals. The internationally renowned series kicked off at the historic Fork York grounds in Toronto, on Thursday night, with chef stars David Chang, Roger Mooking and Mark McEwan at the helm. The grounds were peppered with food tents by Toronto’s most loved restaurants including Splendido, Patria and the Harbord Room, whose head chef Cory Vitiello effortlessly rocked his favourite Blue Jays cap. Next to the grub, book signings were the main attraction with both Mr. Booking and Mr. Chang offering their titles after each giving a talk. It was evening for foodie fans but also chef-on-chef love; each playfully delivered dishes to each other from their mini restaurants, making it feel like an intimate family dinner. Taste of Toronto is open to the public until Sunday. Mangia, mangia! parties@globeandmail.com
