In its many iterations, from violet to magenta, fashion and design have royally fallen for purple this season. From CB2’s geometrically shaped vase in lilac to Abel Munoz’s amethyst stack-heeled loafers, the hue lends a majestic touch to home and wardrobe purchases. It is also making its mark in the beauty category: See the plummy version of Yves Saint Laurent’s newest mascara (which contains a B5 pro-vitamin) and M.A.C’s vibrant orchid eye shadow, soon to be slicked across the coolest lids near you. Anna Sui also made a case for the colour (one that has dominated the iconic fashion designer’s branding for years) with a top-to-toe look at her fall 2015 show, proving that Prince isn’t the only one who can pull that off.
