Green breakfast shake Add to ...

While visiting a friend in Los Angeles, I learned to have my greens for breakfast in this easy to throw together breakfast shake. You won't even know you're eating healthy. Use my measurements as a guideline, you can thin this further by adding water or more almond milk.

1 cup frozen broccoli

handful spinach or chopped kale

1 green apple, cored with skin on

1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 frozen banana, peeled

6 Brazil nuts (or other nuts)

3 dates

2 tbsp cacao nibs

honey/agave to sweeten if needed

Simply combine all your ingredients in the blender and mix. For about 4 cups add 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup frozen broccoli, a handful chopped spinach or kale, 1 cored green apple with the skin on, 1 frozen banana, 6 Brazil nuts, 3 dates and 2 tbsp. cacao nibs. The dates should sweeten this nicely but a squirt of agave can be added as needed. Depending on the quality of your blender you may have to mix for an extra few minutes to get the nuts blended and smooth
