Wine review: Vineland Estates Chardonnay Musqué 2011, Ontario Add to ...

  • Rating 90
  • Year 2011
  • Region Niagara
  • Varietal Chardonnay musqué
  • Food Pairing Grilled trout or other freshwater fish
  • Price $17.95

This would be a fun wine for afternoon tea – all apricot-peach marmalade and aromatic flowers. Medium-bodied and gently musky, it’s almost off-dry, with sweetness deftly balanced by clean acidity. I could see it matching favourably with simply prepared freshwater fish, such as grilled trout. Available through Vintages in Ontario and direct through Vineland.com.
