The quality-price ratio here is something one might sooner expect from a low-cost farming region south of the equator. This was fermented in French-oak barrels with extended lees contact and matured for nine months in the same wood. Medium-bodied, silky and smartly balanced, it shows peach-apple fruit along with zippy citrus and hints of butter and honey. Great for roast chicken, pork chops, even carbonara pasta. Worth contemplating a full case to have around as your house chardonnay. Available in Ontario LCBO stores and direct from the winery, fromtheboscfamily.com.
