An outbreak of C. difficile at Guelph General Hospital has been declared over.
The hospital says it declared the outbreak had ended after consultations with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health.
The outbreak was declared in early July after officials noted a significant rise in hospital-acquired cases.
Seven people with C. difficile died while in hospital since May.
Six of them acquired the infectious bacteria while in hospital, while the other arrived with it.
