On display on the slopes
The Clearview ski resort home is one of four Ontario ski chalets designed by Atelier Kasatelic Buffey.
The ski retreat is based on a straightforward design theme rendered in inexpensive materials.
'The trouble with a minimalist or reductivist approach is that you can go too far, and it looks banal," says Ms. Buffey.
Inside, nearly every surface in sight is white, from the Ikea kitchen cabinetry to the window coverings. The floors are concrete polished to a high sheen.
The dining and living area has a high ceiling, making it feel almost barn-like.
The silhoutte makes a dramatic statement in black and white.
