The Action: In 2014, the unit had been listed $688,000 for six months, but didn't sell. It was relisted in November at $659,000 and it took only a week to sell. Listing agent Nicolas Blachette says there were a couple of viewings a day, with all types of buyers. "The majority of visitors coming were couples downsizing from homes in the city and the suburbs, as well as people from all over the country looking for a second home, or business professionals relocating."

What They Got: The buyers got a 770-square-foot, one-bedroom penthouse condo, with an outdoor patio and south-facing views of Granville Island and the marina. The unit was renovated, with updates to the kitchen and bathroom, and new hardwood floors. The six-storey concrete building has a swimming pool, gym, hot tub and concierge. "The views are amazing, and usually reserved for two-bedroom-plus homes, usually much more expensive," Mr. Blachette says.

The Agent's Take: "The property sold fast because it is downtown, and is located just above the seawall facing the marinas. It is in a low rise, with no car traffic, and a large outdoor terrace, which is hard to find in one-bedrooms," Mr. Blachette says.

Also, the building is located near the site of the upcoming Vancouver House. The area is set for revitalization with an outdoor market and retail and commercial space.
