LISTING AGENTS Jenelle Cameron, Laura Golbeck and Miranda McKenna, Re/Max Hallmark Realty Ltd.

The Action: In the community just south of the Toronto Zoo, this detached house banked nearly 20 showings and a low offer that fell apart. By the third week, a better bid of $620,000 was delivered.

What They Got: On the north side of a pond and public green space is this two-storey house with a 1,900-square-foot plan, a built-in garage, central vacuum system and professionally landscaped, 35-by-81-foot lot with a south-facing backyard.

The decade-old, brick structure was updated over time, so it bears hardwood floors in the living room and the dining area off an eat-in kitchen with a walkout to a cedar deck.

The second floor features laundry facilities and four carpeted bedrooms, including a master suite with a walk-in closet and one of three bathrooms.

There is a basement with a separate entrance, fifth bedroom and recreation room with a built-in bar.

The Agent's Take: "Because it backs onto a pond and ravine, it's really lovely," says agent Jenelle Cameron. "It's a nice community for people who want a bigger home that's new, but still want to be in Toronto without spending $2-million."

Though this home did not have a basement suite like neighbouring properties, it had the essentials. "It's the same size and style of most homes, and it was finished very nicely compared to some," Ms. Cameron adds.
