The Action: About two dozen potential buyers lined up for showings and many more swung by open houses to inspect this 21/2-storey, semi-detached house on a 20- by 130-foot lot just east of Riverdale Park. Several offers emerged after a week of exposure.
What They Got: The sellers of this nearly century-old house had no plans to move, so they personalized the larger of two bathrooms, complete with pot lights and a freestanding tub, and revamped the kitchen with granite and cork finishes, stainless steel appliances and French doors to a deck, south-facing yard and two sheds.
A wall was removed between the fireside living room and dining area, which both have hardwood floors like two second floor bedrooms, including a master suite with wall-to-wall closets, and a third floor suite with skylights and a walkout to a deck.
A den rounds out the basement, which has a separate entrance.
The Agent's Take: "[Buyers] liked the proximity to Withrow school just a few doors away," says agent Sandra Pate. "[And] it's just a few doors to Riverdale Park."
The buyers were also fond of the property's family-friendly attributes.
"There are all different sizes of semi, but this was quite large and substantially renovated with an open-concept plan, a nice new kitchen and a big oversized bathroom renovated on the second floor," Ms. Pate explains. "It had a good sized garden, which is great for kids."
