IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

Try to be a bit more assertive in one-to-one relationships over the coming year, but at the same time don’t go too far and risk alienating people whose assistance you may need. Get the balance right between promoting yourself and working with others.

ARIES (March 21 - April 20):

If you are not in a particularly good mood as the new week begins try cheering yourself up by treating yourself to something nice. It does not have to be costly – there are plenty of fun things you can enjoy that don’t cost a cent.

TAURUS (April 21 - May 21):

Today’s sun-Uranus link in your sign means you are not in the mood to focus on mundane and tedious things, you need something that excites you. Let other people take care of the small stuff, especially on the work front, as you indulge your passions.

GEMINI (May 22 - June 21):

Don’t wait for others to give you permission to do things, just do them and accept that it will make a few waves. Since when have you been the sort who cares to any great extent what other people think? Be bold. Be brave. Be a true Gemini!

CANCER (June 22 - July 23):

You may be reserved by nature but you have your moments of inspiration and if the planets are to be believed you may have several such moments today. Don’t try to ignore the passions that are raging inside you, let them all out to play.

LEO (July 24 - Aug. 23):

Both in your personal affairs and on the work front you will be the center of attention today, which is exactly where you feel most at home. The sun in the career area of your chart will highlight the positive side of your nature. You were born to lead.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 - Sept. 23):

Someone who is as different to you personality-wise as it is possible to get will catch your eye today and it won’t be long before you form a close and enduring relationship. Will it be a romantic one? Stranger things have happened.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 - Oct. 23):

You seem to be enjoying more than your fair share of creative ideas at the moment, and that’s great. You do, however, need to be aware that you cannot expect other people to automatically fit in with your plans. They may have very different ideas to you.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22):

You will be on the best of terms with everyone as the new week gets under way, but one particular individual will feel the full force of that legendary Scorpio passion. If you’re not a pair already the planets suggest you very soon will be.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 - Dec. 21):

You will need to juggle your commitments over the next few days, not least because you have signed up for too many things. Just make sure that everyone you have made promises to, be they personal or professional, feels they are getting value for money.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 - Jan. 20):

You seem to have offended a few people of late, but it’s no big deal. All you have to do is turn on the charm and make them believe that it was all a misunderstanding. You’ll get away with it this time, but next time watch what you say.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 - Feb. 19):

You must not allow yourself to get annoyed because once your temper starts to fray it will unravel quicker than you expected. Uranus, your ruler, warns that family-related issues could be especially challenging, so treat partners and loved ones with respect.

PISCES (Feb. 20 - Mar. 20):

Be careful what you say over the next 24 hours because your words may not sound as wonderful to other people as they do to you. Try to remember that not everyone shares your rather zany sense of humor. Some people have very literal minds.
