IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

You have a choice this year: Either you throw caution to the wind and, more likely than not, end up disappointed that your efforts fall short; or you take it a step at a time and build up slowly towards your ultimate aim. Be sensible and do it right.

ARIES (March 21 - April 20):

If you find yourself in a heated discussion with a friend or work colleague over something that is really quite trivial then take a step back and resolve to just let it go. Why get yourself worked up about something that isn’t worth the effort?

TAURUS (April 21 - May 21):

By all means start planning your next big move but don’t commit yourself fully just yet. Today’s sun-Jupiter link warns you may be setting targets for yourself that are way too high, which will inevitably lead to disappointment. Know your limits and stay within them.

GEMINI (May 22 - June 21):

If you find yourself arguing with someone over a political or social issue today don’t back down but don’t take it too far and risk falling out with them completely. Find a way to change the subject so you can start moving away from what divides you.

CANCER (June 22 - July 23):

The news you receive today will be neither good nor bad in itself, but how you choose to interpret it will define it as one of those things in your own mind. In which case you should strive to look on the positive side. Why make yourself unhappy?

LEO (July 24 - Aug. 23):

This is a good day to get together with loved ones and talk through issues that concern you all. Any problems you’ve had in the past can quite easily be resolved now, just so long as you accept there is no “right” way or “wrong” way to do things.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 - Sept. 23):

Your workload has got a bit too much of late and you need to get a grip and get back on top of it. That means you will need to tell certain people that you can no longer do some things for them. Say it and mean it.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 - Oct. 23):

You will need to take some important decisions today and the most important one of all is whether to devote yourself to work or play. You know there is a lot to do and you don’t want to fall any further behind – so get on with it!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22):

Whatever else you choose to do over the next 24 hours you must – repeat, must – keep your cash in your pocket. If you start spending money, even on small things, you may find it hard to stop. There’s nothing you need that you have not already got.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 - Dec. 21):

Even if you are one of those rare Sagittarians who prefer to keep their opinions to themselves you won’t hesitate to speak up today – and you must speak loud too to make sure everyone hears what you have to say. It’s too important to keep to yourself.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 - Jan. 20):

Cosmic activity in the communications area of your chart gives you the confidence to put across your point of view, but make sure you can back up your claims with facts. If you pluck opinions out of the air someone who knows their stuff could make you look silly.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 - Feb. 19):

Try not to focus too much on details today. It’s the bigger picture that matters and someone with your breadth of vision should be looking for ways to make life more satisfying, not just for yourself, but for those who rely on you too.

PISCES (Feb. 20 - Mar. 20):

The sun in your sign does wonders for your confidence but with Jupiter getting in on the act as well you must be careful you don’t go too far and act in ways that invite a backlash from the universe – not to mention the people you work with!
