Try the Garden Breeze from Havana Night mixologist Neil Daoust of Halifax.

Handout

"This martini is a refreshing change to all the fruity and over-candied drinks that are usually served in summer," says mixologist Neil Daoust of Halifax's Havana Night. "The cilantro keeps it fresh while the ginger gives it bite."

Ingredients

The juice of half a lime

A few slices of fresh ginger root

1/4 ounce pomegranate seeds

A few pieces of cilantro

1 ounce vanilla vodka

1/2 ounce Smirnoff Pomegranate Vodka with Meyer Lemon Liquor

A splash of cranberry juice

Method

To make it, muddle the fresh ingredients together in a martini shaker, then add the alcohol, cranberry juice and ice. Shake well and fine strain with a hand strainer over a chilled martini glass. Garnish with fresh lime, ginger slices and maybe a piece of cilantro or float some pomegranate seeds on the surface.
