The treatment: Amore Face & Body Rejuvenation

What is revelling in a spa day if not an exercise in self-love? If head-to-toe body worship is in your V-Day future, check into Spa Bellagio throughout February for the seasonal Valentine's Amore Face & Body Rejuvenation offering.

First, your therapist invites you to choose your spice: cinnamon-vanilla or cardamom-nutmeg. After customizing the scrub with your preferred scent, your skin is polished with pearly, luminescent white sand from the shores of Bora Bora. You've gone from flounderingly flakey to kissably smooth in a Las Vegas minute. During the facial, a manual micro-peel refreshes ravaged winter complexions to look more January Jones than January NyQuil.

If flu season has you applying more VapoRub on your neckline than moisturizer, this deep drenching session will right so many wrongs. With newly hydrated skin, a final radiance-boosting mask leaves skin luminous, bright and dewy.

The Benefits

The Spa Bellagio is a prime example of luxury as an aesthetic, rather than merely physical, experience. I'm more comfortable luxuriating in a hushed hydrotherapy pool with meditative views than sitting in a bejewelled, pillow-drowned "relaxation" lounge. True hedonism is best pursued in an understated space in which it's possible to savour calm, uncluttered thoughts.

The Spa

The two-storey Spa Bellagio offers guests 65,000 square feet of Zen-influenced design that blends granite and jade surfaces with water walls and hand-blown glass decor. The spa's 54 treatment rooms include 12 skin-care suites with private showers, two Vichy rooms, two hydrotherapy rooms, an aqua room with a dry-float treatment bed and four couples suites. With "spa-bonding" on the rise for bridal parties, families or colleagues looking for a weekend getaway, several areas were designed with groups in mind. Refreshments are served upon request in the Watsu Room and secluded mani-pedi areas. While the spa is open only to hotel guests, the salon, on the first floor, is open to the public.
