The splurge: Liberty brand luxury goods in London

Liberty Print Scarf

To capture the mix of cutting-edge style and tradition that is London, head straight to Liberty at the bottom of Carnaby Street, on Regent.

Housed in a Tudor mansion since 1875, Liberty furnishes locals with an eclectic mix of luxury goods from a variety of top designers, but none is more iconic, more purely London, than its eponymous brand.

You can choose Liberty print shirts, undies or trainers, but my money is always on the gorgeous scarves, which make beautiful gifts – sometimes just from me, to me. Full-sized scarves start at $215 (£135). Look under accessories at liberty.co.uk.
