Dallas - The whimsical glass sculptures of American artist Dale Chihuly are lighting up the landscape at Dallas Arboretum, with Chihuly Nights running until October (check the website for days and times). The 26-hectare park is dotted with Chihuly's glowing Garden Cycle, which features swirling reeds, giant leaves and multicoloured globes floating in ponds and rising from within the manicured lawns and shrubs. Pride Week pop-up

New York - Lords South Beach is popping up in Manhattan for Pride Week (June 18 to 24) in the Hotel Rivington under the name Lords New York. Expect a sassy, Lower East Side spin-off of its Miami-based big sister, complete with South Beach staffers and a hot-pink lobby featuring a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor and a polar bear statue holding a beach ball. British finery

London - Tim and Kit Kemp, the husband and wife hoteliers who founded the Soho, Covent Garden and Haymarket hotels, are unveiling their newest property, the Dorset Square Hotel, on June 18. The swish townhouse hotel has 38 rooms decorated by Kit with bespoke colourful fabrics and hand-woven Argentinean carpets. The comfy beds are dressed in Frette linens, and the bathrooms are decked with sleek marble and oak. Guests will be invited to the drawing room for afternoon tea, or linger over dinner in the Potting Shed, an all-day brasserie serving modern British fare.
