Summer savings in Antigua

The buy: The Verandah Resort & Spa in Antigua is giving guests an air credit and savings this summer.

The savings: 30 per cent, plus air credits of $300 to $500. One child also stays free.

The catch: You have to travel by Aug. 31 and stay three nights for the $300 air credit and seven nights for the $500 air credit.

Why it’s worth it: Set along Antigua’s northeast coastline and bordered by Devil’s Bridge National Park, the all-inclusive resort offers free water activities such as kayaking, windsurfing, Hobbie Cat sailing and paddle boats as well as an 18-hole mini-golf course.

The buy: Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic is offering free air on a selection of voyages.

The savings: $1,200 on a 15-day Fabled Lands of The North: Greenland, Baffin Island, Newfoundland and Labrador sailing.

The catch: You have to book by May 31.

Why it’s worth it: Your charter flight from Ottawa to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland is free. Then you’ll board the 148-passenger National Geographic Explorer for a voyage that visits the west coast of Greenland, Baffin Island, four stops on the coast of Labrador and the former Viking settlement at L’Anse Aux Meadows in Newfoundland as well as a stop at St. John’s.

The buy: The Westin Harbour Castle is offering savings to those attending a game, concert or special event in Toronto.

The savings: Up to 30 per cent with rates starting at $139 a night.
